Kiahuna Plantation occupies a lovely beachfront in Poipu on the sunniest side of the island. This oasis by by sea is picture perfect with quaint, low-rise wooden apartments reminiscent of Hawaii's 19th-century plantation past. The atmosphere is relaxed and carefree. Swaying palms, shady monkey pod trees, and delicate plumeria blossoms accent the manicured lawns that carpet the 35-acre setting. And a pristine stretch of sand invites you to swim and snorkel in the clear blue Pacific.
At Kiahuna Plantation you're ensured utmost privacy to frolic and play. Historic Koloa Town is a just few minutes away, and explore the island with a scenic drive west to Waimea, or east to Lihue, Kapaa, and Hanalei on the north shore. Poipu is one of the best locations in Kauai for condo rentals, and the highlight is the beautiful sandy beach fronting the resort, perfect for swimming, snorkeling and ocean fun. In addition to Kauai beachfront rentals, Kiahuna offers ocean activities, golf and tennis with shopping and dining options conveniently across the street.

Regarded as one of the world's best for cactus and other succulents, the Moir Gardens include fantastically shaped cacti, 70-year-old orchids, ancient Hawaiian lava-rock walls, ponds, and such artifacts as a grinding stone from Hawaii's first sugar mill and a whaler's melting pot converted into a water-lily planter. Monkey pod trees shade circles more than 100 feet in diameter and a grove of exotic lauhala trees.
The Kiahuna Plantation offers guests an opportunity to experience, in contemporary comfort, the 19th-century Hawaiian era of sugar plantations and prim missionaries. Widely spaced on 33 acres of natural grounds and interspersed with gardens and lava-rock ponds, 42 white plantation-style buildings face Poipu Beach, once declared by the world's foremost expert as America's best. Access to upper floors is by outside stairs, not elevators.
Guests enjoy complimentary access to the Kiahuna Swim and Tennis Club, which is located on the north side of the hotel, just across Poipu Road. It features a lagoon-shaped pool with a shallow children’s area, a jetted spa, and a waterslide. Other features include 10 tennis courts, a tennis shop, restaurant, and activity hut with towels, sunscreen, and cameras (extra fee). Barbecue areas, including one on an oceanside sunning lawn and coconut grove, are scattered around the grounds.
This 35-acre resort, with 42 plantation-style buildings, provides 333 one- and two-bedroom units. Units have patios or lanais with white-wood railings and garden or ocean views. Kitchens and separate living/dining areas are included. Decor features bright prints and golden-brown woods. Instead of air conditioning, units are cooled by ceiling fans and cross-ventilated through louvered shutters.
